Concepts for a short I’m working on. This is a mix of Unreal and Redshift renders with some compositing nonsense.
This movie wouldn't have been possible without the help of many talented friends and generous collaborators and supporters. I hope it was worth the wait!
Update 5.24.16:
James was Staff Picked on Vimeo! Yay!
This is a making of and breakdown for a bunch of the 65 total VFX shots in James. I tried to include shots only when it involved some level of C4D trickery or a bunch of different kinds of animation/elements. These were the big problem solving shots that kept me working for 2 and half years.
Special Jack Kirby edition for the 10th anniversary.
This is part of a show pitch I've been working on. Please view in Chrome or Firefox - though a headset with the Vimeo app is preferable for full stereo 3D.
This song screamed: “Animate to me, please.”

From the unused work project files.
Number 7 in a poster series for my nephew.
File under: “downtime creations”
Originally designed as a VR test, I did two separate renders to test lighting and then using Cineversity’s Stereo 3D plugin for C4D. Make sure to watch the VR version in Chrome or Firefox so you can look around.
The goal was to make shape layer animations disappear as much as possible. I messed with motion blur and shutter settings and this came out.
More shape nonsense.
My 3-and-a-half-year-old nephew Rowan (codename: Rowbo) loves Thomas Train, so, of course, the next logical step is to make him a poster putting him in a Thomas Train mech suit. I modeled six of the Thomas and friends (Thomas, James, Percy, Rosie, Diesel and Cranky), took them apart then voltron'd them. Long may he defend Sodor.
Merry Christmas buddy!
A series of square comp animations.
Originally for a live show TV loop. It’s probably better suited for a concert projection on Proxima B.
